FFA Chapter selling poinsettias grown in school's new greenhouse
The greenhouse at the school is fully functional—and full of poinsettias.
The Bridgeport FFA Chapter bought the poinsettias earlier in November and have been nursing them along preparing them for sale. Community members can stop by the greenhouse Thursday from 3-7 p.m. or Saturday from 8-10 a.m. to purchase one.
“It has been exciting with the poinsettias ready to go,” said Supt. Chuck Lambert. “Everything is done and working in the greenhouse and it has been really good so far.”
While the progress has been going well, the students have already encountered and overcome their first challenge. The poinsettias had some insects on them at one point, but the students were able to problem solve and get rid of them.
